One of the new members of the Warwick tribe - first year 2015 - is this First Lady Rosé, an answer to the recent craze in very light colored rosé, à la de rosé from Provence. We see this in the Netherlands, but also in other countries. Only pinotage grapes are used for this rosé. These provide a fine combination of fruit and spiciness. The juice is only used in contact with the skins for a few minutes to get the very light pink color, which is so popular with enthusiasts. Then it is made as a dry white wine. It undergoes fermentation and maturation on stainless steel only, to emphasize the fruit in the wine. This makes it a beautiful glass of rosé, also very suitable for a tasty summer meal due to its powerful and dry style. And with only 11% alcohol.
