Skaap Nathan 2016
Sultry Bordeaux blend with aging potential.. This wine has a ruby-red color, an expressive nose with notes of cassis, ripe plum, clove, cedar wood and chocolate. The attack is firm, but the tannins are ripe and soft, the taste is reminiscent of a classic Bordeaux from a warm year!
Skaap Nathan is a super full-bodied red wine made from Cabernet-Franc, Merlot and Cabernet-Sauvignon. The grapes come from winemaker Riaan's own vineyard. The wine is named after owner Thierry Schaap's son. The 2016 harvest is the second harvest to be marketed under this label.
The color is a beautiful rich purple, red. The scent is soft and has a lot of dark forest fruit. The taste has nice soft tannins and the aftertaste is richly long. This wine is easy to store for another 10 years.
