Seriously Old Dirt
Seriously Old Dirt has been described as “Playful and Intriguing”. The wine is ruby red in color and is remarkably fresh and fruity in aroma, with aromas of red cherry, plum and blueberry. Accented by hints of spicy Szechuan and Cayenne peppers. The wine has a generous taste, with juicy red fruit and a wonderful mouthfeel, with a core of fine tannins and a long finish. Delicious with marinated steaks and green lentil curry.

The second label of winery Vilafonté Seriously Old Dirt is named after the old Vilafontes soil on which the vines have been growing for almost two decades. "It's all about the dirt." Every hectare of vines on Vilafonté is painstakingly grown and harvested, with attention to detail and a unique focus. Seriously Old Dirt uses hand-picked grapes from the younger vines, which are about 4 to 6 years old. After picking, the grapes can soak for 6 to 7 days in a cool climate. During the fermentation we work with partial natural fermentation and an extended fermentation period. The juice is matured in French oak barrels for 22 months.
