Rosé 'Discover Spier'
This fresh, fruity wine, aged without wood, is reminiscent of strawberry and a hint of citrus. You will experience the taste of strawberries until the last sip. Serve with grilled chicken, cold soups, salads and summer fruits.
The soil on which the grape vines grow is well-drained old river beds. This consists of alluvial soils, broken granite from foothills of the mountains. The vines that produce the grapes for this wine are between 14 and 19 years old. The vineyards will receive additional drip irrigation. The grapes are harvested by hand from selected vineyard blocks before being destemmed and pressed. The grapes are left on the skin for about six to eight hours to obtain the rosé color. After soaking, the juice is extracted from the peel. The skins are then lightly squeezed and then mixed with the free-flowing juice. The juice is fermented under controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks with a selected yeast strain of white wine. The best selections are used for the blend. Maturation takes place on the lie for about two months before bottling.
