The wine has exuberant aromas. Red fruit and a hint of black cherries, combined with roasted oak. A silky smooth taste with an elegant tannin structure, which is characteristic of pinotage from Durbanville terroir.

The grapes are picked by hand, after which they are destemmed and crushed in partly stainless steel yeast vats and partly traditional open "kuipe". The crushed fruit undergoes a three-day cold maceration prior to fermentation. Remuage is applied twice a day. The open fermentation vats are 'punched' every four hours, with one stage being carried out during the alcoholic fermentation. Fermentation takes 6 days with a maximum temperature of 27 ºC. After squeezing the juice, 15% of the juice is transferred to barrels for malolactic fermentation. The remainder undergoes malolactic fermentation in tanks. The oak barrels, in which the wine matures for another 12 months before bottling, are 60% French and 40% American. 40% of the barrels are new, the rest is used for the second or third year.
