Avondale Samsara Decade Edition 2010
Samsara means as much as the eternal continuous line of life, 'The cycle of life'. The beautiful wine of an exceptionally high level cannot actually bear any other name. The aroma of the wine is very complex and has elements of red currant, white pepper and light woody notes. Due to the low yield per hectare and the extreme vision of organic farming, this wine has everything you are looking for in a top class wine.
Beautifully elegant fruit, think of plums and cherries, but also a nice spiciness of cinnamon and cloves. The best thing about this wine is the perfect balance and gigantic length.
Samsara, you keep on tasting the wine 'forever'.
Avondale is one of the oldest wineries in Paarl and biodynamic faming. Winemaker Jonathan Grieve makes wines using the natural eco-systems. The water of the Drakenstein mountain waterfalls cascades down over the vineyards and the ancient riverbed, where the winery and wine cellars are built over and around it. In the hot summer sun, this water provides natural cooling of the grapes.
